Sustainable Water group to lead "drink local. drink tap" programs with Cleveland students

Sustainable Water 2019: World Water Day 2011 call for volunteers

Bioneers Cleveland has gifted a $1,000 challenge grant (primarily underwritten by donations) to support Sustainable Water 2019 projects for World Water Day 2011 including several activities working with Cleveland Municipal School students. There are several ways that you can participate:

  • Vote for this project for a Rain Guard Award (you can vote daily until March 22).
  • On March 18, Sustainable Water 2019 will be meeting with 200 students in a half day of water education at Stokes Central Academy. Volunteers are needed from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. to help with moving students through learning stations.
  • On March 22, SW2019 will bring 200 students to Tower City from 9am-noon for a screening of "Tapped" while honoring their sister school in Africa and our local NEO water. Volunteers are needed to help with moving students through the morning events.
  • On March 22 & 23, art volunteers are needed to help during 24 hours of art at Tower City as they build a massive art display for the Cleveland International Film Festival and Earthfest in April at the Zoo. RSVP with Nicole McGee at nicole@plentyunderfoot.com to reserve your volunteer spot. Building, art, or display skills are a plus, but not necessary. Music, security, and some food will be provided.
  • From March 24 to April 3rd, during the film festival, volunteers are needed to man water stations, help with art, and talk with film goers about the project.

Let SC2019 Water group leader Erin Huber know which days and times you would like to help.

Sustainable Water 2019  is waiting for YOU to "Heart" CLE TAP water this March.

We are so very rich in fresh water in NEO. SW 2019 works to reconnect local people with local water.  Please consider taking the Bioneers sponsor challenge, volunteering, or donating what you can to support our work with local artists, film makers, and students to honor LOCAL fresh water and re-appreciate the "richness" that has been with us all along.

Please visit our website for the WWD summary of events, to join our mailing list, get Drink Local gear, or donate today.
