About Summit 2011
As part of the SC2019 initiative, Mayor Frank G. Jackson hosts annual summits, bringing together a diverse group of people vested in and dedicated to Cleveland to use their vast knowledge and imagination to create an action plan for building a green economy for Cleveland’s future. The summits incorporate the Appreciative Inquiry method (AI) as the facilitation method. AI is a collaborative, interactive, and action oriented process for creating change. We are doing more than having conversations; we are planning how we will solidify Cleveland’s sustainable future.
The focus for the 2011 summit is two-fold—the current year’s celebration topic; The Year of Energy Efficiency and the celebration for 2012, Local Food. At the summit we will be highlighting local and regional accomplishments relating to energy efficiency and helping accelerate momentum for current initiatives. Additionally, we will begin preparation for the 2012 celebration year, the Year of Local Food. SC2019 workgroups and other stakeholders will also be invited to share their progress since the 2010 Summit.
The 2011 Sustainability Summit will be held September 22nd and 23rd in Public Auditorium, 500 Lakeside Ave, Cleveland, Ohio.
