Projects (2009)

The Engage 1.6 Million outcome group initiated meeting and coordinating efforts with other 2019 Work Groups that have related missions. The other groups include Public Compact, Communications & Branding, Post-Summit Momentum, and Social Capital—for short, the "G5". We have also been joined by representatives from the Earth Day Coalition, the Mayor's Office, and Corporate Sustainability Network. For more information about the G5, contact Michael Rastatter or Sue Nelson.

Updates

A key focus of the G5 in 2009 was the rollout of the public compact—“The Cleveland Commitment”. The group will work with Earth Day Coalition to determine how Sustainable Cleveland 2019 and the signing of the Cleveland Commitment will be a part of EarthFest 2010, at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on April 18.

At the Outcome Groups showcase on Nov. 17, Alvarado said the group has identified and is reaching out to those in the faith-based community as a partner in the campaign. The goal is to engage populations not traditionally engaged in the issue. Engaging young people through their schools is also a consideration.
