Discussion of Group’s Mission Statement

• Mandy Metcalf proposed the addition of the word “health” or some similar phrase to the statement.
• The term “living wage” will be later defined by one of the new subcommittees (described below)

Old Business

• Updates on existing/in-process retrofit programs matrix
• Paul Ettorre discussed the COSE Green Plus program
• Matt Berger discussed the proposed Efficiency First Tax Credit program
• Courtney DeOreo discussed the Retrofit Ramp-Up (EECBG Phase 2) program
• Discussion of current EECBG proposal
• Based on “pay-as-you-save” model
• City will be hiring a consultant to help craft Stage 1 of this program
• Question: Would an EECBG Stage 3 be expansive enough to meet this group’s goal?
• Discussion of workforce development
• Proposal to invite Andrew Watterson, Cleveland City Chief of Sustainability
• Mark McDermott to contact Watterson to set up a meeting

New Business

• Timeline for completing plan and getting it to the Mayor’s Office
• Proposed deadline of the next summit
• Proposal to contact the Steering committee for 2010 Summit and 2019 Advisory Council for determination of other planned deadlines
• Creation of subgroups needed to meet timeline
• Goals, metrics, tracking, and measuring success
• Chuck Ackerman volunteered to head up this group
• Creating a comprehensive implementation model (including workforce connection)
• Mark McDermott volunteered to head up this group
• Writing the plan
• Julie Lindstrom proposed to head up this collaborative effort between both groups

Presentation of case studies

• Robert Stutzman presented a slide show of some current retrofit programs throughout the U.S.
• Matt Berger proposed looking at European cities for more case studies
