The main Bioneers is taking place at a reservation of Native Americans in San Rafael, California.

Kenny Ausubel, co-founder of Bioneers with his wife (have to get her name), in the introduction mentioned that Bioneers is beaming internationally to Peru to Fiji to England and beyond.

Detroit As an industrial city considered lost, transformed from Motown to Growtown with one of the most thriving inner city agricultural effort.

Cuyahoga River Valley reminds us that regneration is no longer an option it's a stronger path to ecoomic future. You remember in 1969 the Cuyahoga River cauhgt fire. Not for the first time... this weekend, in Cleveland Bioneers will have a Birth of industry to birth of environmental movement people will take a boat tour to learn about the environmental work to take this city into a Green City on a Blue Lake.

Here's to seeing the seeds that started here to into streams and rushing rivers.

Being a bioneers means recognizing that there is no separation between people and environment. It means working toward social justice and equity, to heal.

JL Chestnut, a legendary civil rights activist, spoke last year about his lawsuit against discrimination for black southern farmers. He noted that efforts of Bioneers are transforming society. Fighting on behalf of women, minorities, on behalf of the environment are one big battle. We know that unchecked materialism...is a form of terrorism.

We are all Bioneers if we choose to be. All of our creative energy is needed.

We're experiencing impacts of a culture of violence. We bear the scars of a culture founded on exploitation. With patterns so engrained, how can we shift course? We're gifted with capacity for self reflection. Each time we choose to relate to people we begin to heal and restore our cultural landscape. The abundance of solutions and the outrage of what's happening ignite me to act more decisively for positive change. We need each other for the changes we need to make. How intrinsic our relationships are to meeting this challenge. The stories that live within us give meaning to our lives. We Bioneers are changing the stories of hope, transformation like birds carry seeds on their feathers we can see the transformation. Thank you.

Ausubel -- A revolution from the heart of nature and from our heart. We've been acting like a rock star trashing the hotel room and it's the morning after. But the hotel room is planet earth and the terms are non-negotiatble. Taking care of nature means taking care of people, and taking care of people means taking care of nature. The mass extincition of 30 percent of the world's species (we're going to be busier than a cat in a roomful of rocking chairs -- awesome!). Darwin said, it's not the strongest that survive, it's the ones who are most adaptable to change.

We exalt greed. It's foreign policy as empire. It's a catastrophic success. But each empire has collapsed similarly -- high levels of debt. costly military overreaching. The U.S. is repeating it. But every time history repeats itself, the price goes up (J. Paul Getty). The Dutch learned to tap wind, wood. No empire has been able to manage the transition to next energy source. It requires the most fierce passage ever seen. The cnarge is the change from vicious cycle to a virtuous cycle. Real economic wealth is greating wealth by investing in our communities and workforce. Restoration is a one trillion dollar market.

The rules of virtous engagement -- Don't hit, take turns, play by rules, don't waste art supplies and be prepared to share. These principles ensure order in elementary school and can be our guide. In 2006, David Orr calls global ecological turning point. It will take skillful means and a big heart. Imagination takes more skill than knowledge. At the forefront is Biomimicry the art and design or mimicing nature's genius. There's nothing like having 4 million years of design genius at your back. Arguably the single most important design idea to shoot the rapids for the next 10 years. It invites us to act again as if we have relatives.

In Silicon Valley, the 'watt-com' industry has blossomed. The smart money is hot on the trail of the next industrial revolution. Astoundingly, the U.S. has no national energy policy. That's about to change. David Orr delivered "P-Cap" a energy agenda for the next White House. California has the first climate change legislation. Gearing up to 12 times its solar panel installation. Texas is going to surpass Germany in wind with one installation (T. Boone Pickins'). Enough municipalities are competing for greenest city to start a new sports league. Mayor Bloomberg says green strategy is the only economic growth strategy. Green collar restoration economy will address economic injustice.

Will Uncle Sam get on board or at least out of the way? Germany produces 14% of its energy from solar bc of policies. We need to take this work to scale in the next decade. Social innovations are of equal importance. The EU is pushing parliamentary best management practice. Equador instituted ecological rights for natural systems -- the first government to do so in the world.

You can only take care of the place that will take care of your offspring -- Janine Benyus.

Bioneers created a vision that looks at practical creation of green grid, environmental justice, biofuels, governance. Dreamingnewmexico.com
A tool for other communities to dream their future.

It take courage, encouragement. A vision predicates and imaginative leap. A tax cut requires no imagination. But to imagine combining resources to open up dead ends of poverty. Imagine living beyond yourself, getting in touch with something you love; that would be like grace. Imagine it. (I didn't really catch that whole last part, but it was truly inspiring).
