Remember Live Aid, the 1985 mega concert at Wembley and JFK stadiums where dozens of bands like Queen, Nik Kershaw, Black Sabbath and Elvis Costello rocked to spell starvation in Africa? Get ready for the sequel this Saturday (7/7/07), as Live Earth beams this generation's pop stars from eight cities to raise funds and awareness for their greatest challenge ? the global climate crisis.
Not planning on making it to Tokyo, Hamburg, New York, etc. but still want a flavor? Check out a local Party for the Planet where you'll hear a special message from Al Gore, watch a sneak preview of up and coming presidential candidates debating climate change, and finally enjoy LIVE EARTH concerts from around the globe. B-side on Coventry and Great Lakes Brewery in Ohio City are the locations-free admission (cash bar), complimentary refreshments, and raffles.
Already booked for Saturday? Live Earth site is chock-a-block with action steps to reduce your carbon footprint, so be your own rock star.
