Permaculture brainstorm & farmer's market debuts at CSU

The New Agrarian Center has a freebie during its design course on permaculture, which is the art of producing economic opportunity from the land in all four seasons. This Saturday, gather with international permaculture expert, Darren Doherty, from Australia. Doherty will lead a brainstorming session for repurposing vacant land in Cleveland into neighborhood businesses at Vel's Purple Oasis Gardens in Fairfax.

North Union Farmer's Market debuts at CSU Cleveland State University and North Union Farmer's Markets are launching a new farmer's market on CSU's campus starting September 3. Earth to U Farmer's Market will feature all locally grown fresh and prepared food. It's located at E. 18th Street and Euclid Avenue (in front of the College of Law) each Thursday from 10:30am - 1:30pm. Presented with the support of the Campus Sustainability Coalition and the Student Environmental Movement.

Cleveland chicken eggs for sale Gather 'round Farm, an urban farm located at W. 38th Street and Lorain Avenue in Ohio City, is selling its fresh vegetables and eggs on Mondays from 4-7 p.m. from August 24th through September. Go here for more information. They're also hosting a "womyn and girls night", a casual, informal potluck dinner on Saturday, August 29th from 7-10 p.m.
