Where are the urban sacred places?

David Beach  |  10/13/09 @ 2:14pm

In the Spirit section of this site, we have a page about the "sacred places" of Northeast Ohio. These are natural places that seem to have a special life-affirming resonance for people and connect them to the Earth. They are places like waterfalls and ledges, hemlock ravines, and overlooks to Lake Erie.

Recently our friend Sue Wolpert commented on the page: "Most of the locations mentioned above are beautiful spots which lay outside of our urban center. Where can one find a quiet corner within the urban core?... Where are the healthiest, most up-lifting, life-affirming places in our urban core?"

Good question!  What corner of the city - plot of greenspace, street, alley, building, tree - is sacred to you?

Post your nominations as a comment on the Sacred Places page, or send them here.
