In time for this Sunday's EarthFest, the Earth Day Coalition has placed its Green Pages directory of environmental groups online. It's a useful way to to be introduced to the organizations working to improve the environment in Northeast Ohio.

As an aside, we're noticing that more and more local nonprofits are abandoning print publications. Earth Day co-director Chris Trepal says that her group decided to publish the Green Pages only online this year because of the high cost of printing and because the Web has become a more efficient, environmentally friendly, and widely available means of communication. Another example: yesterday, we received the final print issue of the Cleveland Restoration Society's Perspectives newsletter, which will become an all e-mail newsletter in the future.
