Green Jobs rally in Columbus

A few weeks back I had a chance to attend the Green Jobs Day of Action event in Columbus. Almost 50 people in Columbus joined over 50,000 at events across the country to raise awareness and advocate for green jobs.

Speakers at the event discussed opportunities for new jobs in manufacturing, building trades and in professional services like energy audits. These types of jobs transcend outsourcing, education level, and region and they can be found across economic sectors and in every city across the nation.

With the many issues we are facing from energy prices to national security to troubles on Wall Street, isn’t it time we rethink how we power our economy, and where we derive that power?

I’ll be posting regularly on green jobs, clean energy, and activism across Ohio. The time is now to create a clean energy, 21st century economy and reinvest in our struggling communities. The time is now for Cleveland to brush off its rust belt label, and build America’s green belt in its place.
