Marc, At the corner of W.25 & Lorain, we served ~50 folks. The folks most excited about the event were people of color. The phrase 'Complete Streets' meant nothing to them, but when I explained it as investments in environment/infrastructure that was better for walking or riding a bike or moving around in a wheelchair; people were excited, exclaiming that 'we need more of that sort of thing in Cleveland, especially that big new bridge that's getting built....' Without any prompting from me, people asked 'Am i gonna be able to walk across that new bridge?' When I said probably not, they replied 'Why the hell not? what's going on? how much more could it cost to add a sidewalk?! We need to do something about that!" To which I replied, Come to the Event on Sept 17 and show your support for more investment in Bike/Walk infrastructure to create a more livable Cleveland.
