I believe climate change is real, must be faced and action taken. But the discourse of catastrophe is in danger of tipping society onto a negative, depressive and reactionary trajectory.

Ed "Citizen" Hauser of the Friends of Whiskey Island is heading up a letter writing campaign to protest the county's pending sale of a portion of Whiskey Island to the Port Authority. He writes:
"The Port Authority has recently stated its intentions to acquire part of the county's Whiskey Island property. The Port Authority has never demonstrated or justified the need to take our precious Whiskey Island waterfront property. The people of Cuyahoga County own this Whiskey Island property and the public uses this area for waterfront access and recreational purposes.
I encourage everyone that is interested in public access and recreation on our waterfront and government accountability, to contact our public officials and put a stop to this unjustified land grab - again."
For more information about how Whiskey Island fits in with the broader Lakefront Plan. To email Hauser for a copy of his letter.
