More fitness. America’s obesity epidemic curbed. Less gasoline burned, fewer carbon emissions. Safer streets. Improved access to public transit. Those are just some of the reasons why biking and walking proponents say it’s time for the federal government to focus less on new and expanded highways, and far more on safe pathways and “complete streets” for our towns and cities.

I'm working on a number of efforts ot create new kinds of jobs.
Jobs which require basic tech skills, the kind of skills which ALL jobs will require in the future.
The trick is - "how can we get the new kind sof jobs CREATED so that workers can get hired by bosses. eg workforce development."
The challenge is that traditional workforce development is geared towards traditional jobs - and BILLIONS of dollars is poured into workforce development every year - more or less as a complete waste.
A new way of thinking about jobs is required.
This site is inspired by the memory of Richard Shatten, a former board member of EcoCity Cleveland,
who pushed Northeast Ohio to think strategically about regionalism and sustainability.

The Future
mauricejh Says:I totally agree ,there needs to be a new way of thinking when it comes to the JOB.
In my opinion that has already come ,some have picked up on it and some
have not .With the current conditions that the country is in, companies are looking to out source a majority of their work load which in turn cuts out a lot of your every day hard worker.
It has become more economical, cheaper to have someone run portions of the work load
Yes ,i believe that telecommuting is the way of the future ,business are going virtual and a lot of people are catching on and more need to catch on ,if you want to be able not only survive .
