Issues of vacancy, abandonment and foreclosure have had a profound effect on the well-being of the nation's neighborhoods and residents. These negative forces have mobilized community development professionals and policymakers in Cleveland to develop innovative efforts to turn the tide and fight for our neighborhoods.

"Greening Your Home" is a workshop series for homeowners by local green building guru Jim LaRue. It's presented by the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes and Environmental Health Watch.
On seven consecutive Thursday evenings from Jan. 10 through Feb. 21, 2008, homeowners can learn how to save money, water, energy and more. All sessions are 7-9 p.m. at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes.
