Cleveland's most threatened buildings and structures

Ohio Podiatry College - demolished in 2009This is an incomplete picture of architecturally significant buildings in the Cleveland area that are not listed on the National Register of Historic Places or are in imminent danger of being abandoned or torn down.

In order to better organize preservation efforts, a full inventory of significant and threatened buildings is needed.

  • The headquarters of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland
  • The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine Carnegie medical building (update: the building–pictured–at the corner of E. 105 and Carnegie, was demolished by the Cleveland Clinic in 2009 for a surface parking lot).
  • 8501 Carnegie Avenue (formerly Sears Roebuck and Museum of Contemporary Art)
  • Ameritrust tower (designed by Marcel Breuer)
  • The Temple-Tifereth Israel (March, 2010, Case and The Temple announce deal to adaptively reuse the temple as the university's performing arts center with the congregation reserving rights to hold services and Citizen's Academy continuing its program)
