Urban Agriculture Training Programs in Cleveland

OSU Extension, Cuyahoga County will offer two different training courses beginning this January in community gardening and market gardening. Come to an information session this December to learn more about these opportunities.COMMUNITY GARDENINGThe training program in community gardening is a series of six classes spread over eight weeks that will help participants develop a site plan for their garden and basic knowledge in vegetable gardening and help identify resources and community partners to make their project a success. This training is for people who want to start a community garden in their neighborhood or at their organization. The applications for this program will be available soon.MARKET GARDENINGThe Market Gardener Training Program is a twelve week program designed to provide participants with a foundation in urban agriculture, business development and direct marketing to help Cleveland area residents start their own agricultural enterprises in the city. This training program is for people who want to start their own small business growing food in the city and selling it at local markets and to restaurants and small grocers.
