Emerging Black Political Leadership in Cleveland: A forum commemorating the public service career of the late Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs-Jones

Keynote Speaker: Featuring Jeff Johnson, BET host and producer, radio commentator with NPR's News and Notes and political motivator.

About the program: This is the first annual public forum to honor the memory of the late Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. The forum will focus on the future of black political leadership. A new generation of black politicians is choosing careers in public service in a different way. How has political leadership changed. How was it nurtured in the past, how is it nurtured presently, and how should it be nurtured going forward? How can we foster and develop political leadership in individuals? And, what are the qualities and experience needed for a successful career in public service?

Discussants: Nina Turner, Senator, 25th District, Ohio State Senate Peter Lawson Jones, Commissioner, Cuyahoga County TJ Dow, Cleveland City Council, Ward 7 Jala Khateeb, Mt. Pleasant Development Corporation
