2009 Headwaters Adventure race and fitness walk

Participants will run two miles on the Headwaters Trail, bike ten miles along beautiful rural roads to Camp Hi Livery, and then canoe or kayak back to Buchert Park in Mantua on the Upper Cuyahoga State Scenic River. Teams of two may split the run/bike portion, then canoe together, or, a single adventurer may run, bike and kayak. Fees are $40 per person, and includes t-shirt, canoe rental and after race refreshments. Fitness Walk fee is $15.00.

This special event will raise funds to enable the Park District to expand its volunteer program as well as make improvements to its trails around the county. 2009 is the Year of the River, designated by the Park District and many organizations and local governments to celebrate the 40 years of progress made in river health since the infamous burning of the Cuyahoga River in 1969.

Details will be posted on the Park District website as they become available. Please visit www.portageparkdistrict.org or call 330-297-7728 for more information.
