2009 Ohio Planning Conference - To Sustainability and Beyond

The Akron Section of the Ohio Planning Conference (OPC), a chapter of the American Planning Association, proudly presents a three day conference focused on the theme of "Sustainability."Attendees will include elected officials, planning professionals, zoning and planningcommissioners, zoning inspectors, attorneys, economic development professionals, real estate professionals, developers, architects, landscape architects, and development and construction related industry representatives from throughout the State of Ohio.

The conference will focus on the role that planning plays as communities strive forsustainability (economic, environmental, social, and health). The program will includespeakers and sessions addressing planning and zoning legal issues, roles of commissionmembers, development proposal review, evaluating and updating regulations, planning andregionalism, economic development, technologies for sustainability, re-use of historicstructures, watershed planning, and other best practices.
