Green Summit for Ohio faith communities

Gather with members of faith communities from across Ohio for this first event of its kind. The Green Summit is a unique opportunity to network and gain resources and inspiration to green your congregation and support your faith-based environmental efforts.

Friday evening's session features Michael Schut, Economic and Environmental Affairs Officer of the Episcopal Church USA, and author of a series of adult study books including Simpler Living, Compassionate Life. Mike Schut will provide inspiration and guidance for clergy and lay leaders involved in environmental work, based on his long experience working with diverse faith communities in the U.S. and abroad.

Saturday includes an all-day expo with workshops on greening congregations, energy efficiency and conservation, sustainable agriculture, and related topics, as well as links to the 2009 Ohio Solar Tour. The dynamic team of Matthew and Nancy Sleeth is Saturday's featured speakers. Dr. Matthew Sleeth has become America's most sought speaker on creation care, and is author of Serve God, Save the Planet. Nancy Sleeth's recent book Go Green, Save Green encourages families to save money by going green at home. Sunday includes a Blessing of the Animals ceremony in honor of St. Francis Day.
