Biomimicry workshop

A workshop at the Cleveland Clinic on "Biomimetics: Principles and applications." Further information and registration links can be found by selecting the link under "MDS workshops" at http://www.lerner.ccf.org/bme/mds/ .

The main goal of this workshop is to help attendees understand the value of imitating principles found in Nature when designing new devices and materials. It will provide background information necessary for inventing devices such as sensors that are based on biological principles, silk-based products for potential biomedical engineering applications and inventions that are derived from squid physiology. The program is designed to provide a basic awareness and understanding of this extremely efficient but often misunderstood and underutilized tool of science and engineering.
