Course on Reporting Environmental Performance

For more information about this course and to register, visit http://www.brownflynnlearning.com/training.asp

GRI Environmental Performance (EN) Indicators: Overview and Practical Application for Tracking and Measurement Description: Much of the business case for sustainability depends on an entity's ability to produce the same services or products with less energy, materials, and biosphere impact. Having an in-depth understanding of the correct protocols and methodologies for tracking environmental performance and how management disclosures are key for when goals are not met, is a critical element for reporting the GRI environmental (EN) indicators. This 6-hour workshop, taught by environmental engineers, provides an overview of the 30 GRI EN indicators allowing time to address problems facing the participants. Instructors will further delve into how the environmental indicators relate to goal setting, benchmarking, reporting GHG inventories, and life cycle analysis.

Expected Outcomes: The attendees of this one-day workshop will develop a more in-depth understanding of the following:

  • How to use the Environmental Indicators as the basis for the business case for sustainability.
  • The current methodologies and protocols relevant to the North American market for reporting the Environmental Indicators.
  • How to benchmark, set goals, and respond when the company is going off goal.
  • How these indicators are used for reporting to other agencies, such as the Carbon Disclosure Project.
The course will include discussion of using information collected for GRI for other reporting protocols such as the Carbon Disclosure Project. Instruction will also consider Life Cycle Analyses that takes a broader view of the environmental impact.

Cost: $350.00 per attendee if also participating in February 9th and 10th GRI training. $595.00 per attendee if participating exclusively in February 11th EN Indicator course.
