Join Earth Day Coalition for a fun and excitingday at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Sunday, April 18th from10am-5pm as we proudly celebrate EarthFest 2010!

 

This year marks the 40th global anniversaryof Earth Day. Cleveland will join London, Mumbai, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro,Beijing, Tokyo, and a host of other cities around the world in showcasingclimate change solutions and making a clear call to action.

 

EarthFest is Ohio's largest environmentaleducation festival, and will feature over 160 exhibitors working to createsustainable environmental solutions in areas such as clean transportation,alternative energy, green home improvement, and local and organic foods.  Other exhibit and activity areas willfeature groups working in the ecological non-profit sector, environmentalscience, and children's education.

 

Sign up for "Walk or Bike for the Earth" andembark on a five-mile nature hike through the Brookside Reservation loopingback to the zoo. Along the way, you will learn about the zoo's composting andrecycling projects, nature preservation, water testing, and more.  Registration for "Walk or Bike for theEarth" takes place the morning of April 18th at 7am at the zooentrance, prior to the opening of EarthFest 2010.

           

EarthFest 2010 is a wonderful event for the wholefamily featuring an entire exhibit area designed exclusively for children'seducation and family fun, live entertainment throughout the day, and greatprizes and giveaways.  Enjoy anafternoon at the zoo to celebrate the magnificent planet Earth we call home!
