Free Community Shred-It Day

In honor of Earth Day, Western Reserve Public Media is teaming up with the Akron/Canton franchise of Shred-It for a free day of shredding. The general public is welcome to bring up to five boxes or trash bags of paper materials to be shredded. Additionally, you may bring some electronics for disposal, including hard drives, old computer towers and monitors. No hazardous materials (e.g., paint, batteries) will be accepted. Find a complete list here.

Shred-It recycles everything that can be recycled, and its partner Itran recycles all of the electronics that can be recycled. Computer hard drives are crushed and later melted down for recycling.

Start packing up your boxes of old papers and electronics that you've been waiting to unload! Voluntary cash donations to benefit Western Reserve Public Media will be gratefully accepted. For more information, call Western Reserve Public Media at 1-800-554-4549.
