Smart Sustainable Schools

The Northeast Ohio Chapter of the USGBC's Schools Team welcomes Gene Matthews, Director of Case Western Reserve University's Facilities Department in a special discussion of sustainable building operations and performance results.

Looking to engage the K-12 community of educators, facility managers, business managers, superintendents, principals, boards of education and staff for this event.

CWRU has become a regional leader in sustainability. This discussion will profile how the University has worked toward optimal operating efficiencies while maintaining a healthy living environment.

CWRU's 155 acre campus is comprised of dozens of buildings ranging from residential, academic classrooms, administrative offices, medical labs, food service and recreational. The campus has been actively addressing both operational and built environment sustainability issues for more than 5 years through retrofitting, purchasing, repaving, water reclamation and other efforts.
