Registration Deadline: January 20, 2011 For registration information, please visit: http://www.csuohio.edu/ce/about/register.html Or call 216-687-2144 The BPI Heating Professional certification course is a BPI residential specialization that can be used in conjunction with the Building Analyst certification to allow your company to apply for accreditation (if your company performs HVAC work, you may be required to have a Heating Specialist to attain BPI Accreditation). This training, which includes both classroom sessions and field experience, will help you prepare for the Building Performance Institute's Heating Professional written and field exams. As an individual this course will prepare you to understand heating system load and sizing, design, duct system diagnostics, and proper maintenance and efficiency analysis. Training will include review of some Building Analyst topics, but is not a BA preparatory course. Prerequisites: Building Analyst certification, Building Analyst training and/or equivalent experience is strongly recommended. In addition, experience with HVAC systems and their operations is highly recommended. Who Should Attend: This course is optimized for Building Analysts, envelope professionals, HERS raters, home inspectors, HVAC professionals, insulation professionals, general contractors, home builders, engineers, architects and other home-improvement professionals looking to add heating efficiency experience to their offerings. Topics Covered: Classroom: Health and safety, heating system science, load & sizing, distribution system design, combustion safety science, ducted system diagnostics, combustion gas analysis, duct repair & sealing, combustion appliance vent repair, ventilation system installation, heating appliance clean & tune, and gas oven clean & tune. Field Training: Controls & electrical inspection, heat exchanger inspection, post-installation inspection, and CAZ testing. Field exams may run into Saturday depending on class size.
