Finding Opportunities in the Local Food EconomyThursday, March 3rd, 7 pm, Bioneers Cleveland Environmental Town Hall with the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, 2600 South Park Blvd., Shaker Heights.Win 7: Economics as if People Mattered, presented at the 2010 National Bioneers by Gary Hirschberg, CEO of Stonyfield Farm, will be shown by DVD, followed by a panel of local entrepreneurs in the Northeast Ohio food movement. Carlton Jackson of Tunnel Vision Hoop Houses and Brad Melzer with Filtrexx will talk about their start-up projects. Then, what's better than talking about the local food of Northeast Ohio? Well, tasting it of course! Entrepreneurial hopeful Victoria Mills of Savory Yogurts invites you to taste its new line of flavors and tell us what you think about this unconventional approach to 'beyond breakfast' style yogurt.No charge--all are welcome.Gary HirshbergCEO of Stonyfield FarmGary Hirshberg has worked on sustainability issues for over 33 years, first as the Executive Director of the New Alchemy Institute in the late 1970's and early 1980's, and for the last 27 years as the CEO of Stonyfield Farm, the world's largest organic yogurt company.
