Will Allen, CEO of Growing Power, leads aquaponics & vermiculture workshop

Will Allen is the CEO of Growing Power, a national not-for-profit organization supporting the development of community food systems. He has over 50 years of experience in farming, marketing and distributing food, and is known as an innovator and creator of food systems.

Mr. Allen has developed a pioneering bio-intensive growing system using worms, which is being used in urban and rural agriculture projects around the world.

Awarded the 2008 MacArthur ?Genius Grant? for his efforts to promote sustainable farming in low-income neighborhoods.

He will lead a workshop on building a large-scale worm composting system and a closed-loop aquaponics system at the soon to be developed Cleveland regional urban agriculture training center on vacant land in the Kinsman area.

Combined tickets for the Friday keynote forum and Saturday workshop are $100.
