Boat Float Workshop

The Third Annual Great Lake Erie Boat Float is a fun and unique event with an important message about the impact of plastics on the environment. Come listen to Nancy Hughes, Compost and Recycling Coordinator with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, discuss the marine debris issue and why it is of concern to all us. Most importantly, learn how your actions can make a difference in addressing this global issue. Also hear some hints on how to build your own plastic boat from the trophy-winning Sea Scouts of Ship 41. The Boat Float will be held on Saturday, September 10th at Lower Edgewater State Park Beach. Boat launch is at 10am. All boats must be made from post-consumer recyclable materials and be family friendly. Registration is required but there is no registration fee. A beach clean-up follows the Boat Float. To learn more about the Boat Float visit: www.lakeerieboatfloat.org. The Boat Float is sponsored by The Cleveland Museum of Natural History and Cleveland Metroparks. For information on how to register visit: http://www.cuyahoga.lib.oh.us/BayVillageBranch.aspxThe Third Annual Great Lake Erie Boat Float is a fun and unique event with an important message about the impact of plastics on the environment.
