The State of Green Building

Proponents of green buildings have a long list of persuasive arguments they can use to convince clients and developers that green is the way to go: healthier, happier employees, reduce materials, water and energy usage, benefit your local economy, return on investment and promote global environmental responsibility. But with the American economy in distress, the question of the marketplace impact on green building, its future implementation and its affect on climate change remains. Join us for a presentation by Tim Cole, Executive Committee Member of USGBC and Director of Environmental Initiatives and Product Development at Forbo Flooring. Mr Cole will be joined for further discussion by a regional panel of green building practitioners comprised of: Jon Ratner, Director of Sustainability at Forest City Enterprises, Bill Doty LEED AP, Principle of Doty and Miller Architects, and Tim Panzica LEED AP, Executive Vice President of Panzica Construction. This session will be moderated by Michele Kilroy LEED AP, Executive Director of Northeast Ohio Chapter of USGBC.The panel will provide their insight on local, regional and national green building practices, trends and technologies. We?ll look to identify what changes need to happen to make substantive change to our communities and our environment. This event is FREE with Museum admission. Visit www.cmnh.org for more information. All persons attending this panel discussion will receive a free pass to visit the PNC SmartHome during Open House hours on Wednesday evenings.
