WALK+ROLL 2011Grab your walking shoes, bike, stilts, skateboard, or anything else that gets you moving and join us on the streets of Slavic Village Saturday August 13th from 1 ? 6pm for our third annual Walk+Roll! Three miles of neighborhood streets (E. 65th, Fleet, E. 49th, Kenyon, and Ackley) will be opened to pedestrians for a unique way to actively explore the community. Biking, walking, or public transit to Walk+Roll is encouraged, but if you must drive, parking is available at Washington Reservation, Dolloff and E. 55th, Broadway and Aetna, and any of the neighborhood side streets.Street activities for Walk+Roll include live music, public art, historic church tours, garden tours, youth activities, Zumba, a Fourth District Safety Fair, skateboarding with Public Square Group?s famous Skateboard Kitchen, and much, much more. All street activities will take place from 1pm-4pm. While there, you can also enjoy delicious eats from Cleveland?s famous food trucks including Umami Moto, StrEAT Mobile Bistro, Jibaro, and Setti?s Polish Boy.Not familiar with the Slavic Village neighborhood? No problem. There will be guided bicycle tours led by the Great Lakes Touring Company from 1 to 4pm starting at East 65th and Osmond. You can also rent bikes for $10 during Walk+Roll. Please reserve bikes by calling Great Lakes Touring at (330) 532-TOUR.New this year is our Village Treasure Trek?a bicycle scavenger hunt for all ages. Join a group or explore Broadway Slavic Village on your own while experiencing some of its unique businesses and neighborhood landmarks. For each place you visit, you receive a raffle ticket that is redeemable for one of many free prizes. The Village Treasure Trek begins at noon and lasts until 2pm, starting and ending at Osmond Court.After the Walk+Roll street activities end around 4pm, join neighbors at Osmond Court (at East 65th and Osmond) for a community concert sponsored by Councilman Anthony Brancatelli. Bring your chair or blanket, play some games, and enjoy live music with your friends and neighbors.Check out the continually-updated list of the day?s activities online at www.SlavicVillage.org.
