11th Annual Family Fishing Day

The Doan Brook Watershed Partnership (DBWP) welcomes Northeast Ohio families to kick off the Labor Day weekend with a day of free fishing and outdoor activities at University Circle?s Rockefeller Park Pond on Saturday, September 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.Family members of all ages will be able to cast for catfish and bluegill in the specially stocked lagoon with provided bait and tackle, learn about Doan Brook and our local water sources in hands-on demonstrations and exhibits, enjoy lively tunes spun by RADIO DISNEY, and win prizes in an afternoon derby. Families may register in advance by calling DBWP at 216-321-5935 x234. Free parking is available in the adjacent Rockefeller Park lot off Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. at 105th. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS? Registration and open fishing, with knot tying and casting lessons provided by North Coast Black Bass Angler?s Association and PluggOne Outdoors. Free bait and tackle will be available. 9 a.m. ? 2 p.m.? Fish ID activities, face painting, chalk drawing. 9 a.m. ? 3 p.m.? ?What?s in The Water?? water quality and macro invertebrate sampling, 10:00 ? 12:00 p.m.? Join The Radio Disney AM 1260 Road Crew for your favorite Radio Disney Music, games and a boatload of prizes! Plus, test your water knowledge in the "Where Does It Go" Game powered by NEORSD. 12:00-2:00 p.m.? Free hot dog lunch, 12 p.m. ? 1 p.m.? Learn how to collect and store rainwater, protect our local waterways and save money all at the same time at a rain barrel demo, 10 p.m. ? 2 p.m.?
