NEO Green Building: Teaching Sustainability & Global Citizenship

Northeast Ohio Chapter of the USGBC is pleased to bring you this program featuring Cleveland Municipal School District educator, Teddy Natambi-Mwonyoni ( a native of Uganda), who will share her experience and aspirations as a sustainability education advisor to middle school students on 2 continents.Teddy launched a Green Team comprised of students at Carl & Louis Stokes Central Academy who implement on-going recycling and water conservation projects at their school and in their community. Teddy's mission is to help her students become productive global citizens with a concern for the environment. Stokes' students won first place at the Ohio Youth for Justice Conference and have presented at the Youth Environmental Conference. The students have also participated in local World Water Day events in partnership with the non-profit Drink Local Drink Tap, which raises awareness of community water resources and the global water crisis.Educators, school administrators, parents and students are encouraged to attend this session to better understand how sustainability can make a difference at your respective schools.No cost to attend.
