Across the Spectrum conference on the future of Ohio

Greater Ohio Policy Center is pleased to announced a unique upcoming conference,?Across the Spectrum: The Future of Ohio and the Path to Prosperity,? jointly sponsored with two other policy groups -- the conservative The Buckeye Institute and the progressive Center for Community Solutions -- that will bring together state and national experts from a wide range of political perspectives to discuss challenging substantive policy issues confronting the state and potentially impairing Ohio?s transition to a new economy.

Scheduled for December 8th, 2011 at the Renaissance Hotel in Columbus, this unprecedented event has two goals: raise the level of public discourse in an era in which winning has replaced good public policy as the objective and explore differences and common ground on key substantive policy issues central to the future prosperity of Ohioans.

?Our aim is to challenge individuals and organizations to think out of their intellectual and ideological silos and work collaboratively to jumpstart a new economy in Ohio,? says Lavea Brachman, Executive Director of Greater Ohio. By bringing together a range of perspectives, Ohioans have an important opportunity to think creatively about the best ways to leverage Ohio?s many physical, cultural, technological, and economic assets.

Conference sponsors hope the panels and conversations will cultivate a new climate for discussion, leading to public policy reforms that can jumpstart a new economy in Ohio. For more information and to register for ?Across the Spectrum,? please go to the conference website.
