World Water Day 2012: Cleveland WATER ROCKS!

Today is World Water Day. A number of local groups are organizing activities to raise awareness of a clean Lake Erie, our source of drinking water.

Local water awareness campaign Drink Local. Drink Tap (DLDT) is organizing an event where Cleveland Municipal School students involved in WWD 2012 and their Wavemaker Program will walk carrying a day?s worth of water with Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson to the shores of Lake Erie. Their actions honor third world students without access to safe water. The program will continue with water education and a private screening of DLDT's film (watch the trailer here) at the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum which connects Northeast Ohians to a rural village and orphan school in Uganda, East Africa (read more about DLDT?s Making Waves from Cleveland to Uganda Project here).
