Bridgestone Technical Center LEED site tour

NEO U.S. Green Building Council Chapter is partnering with Akron-Canton CSI and AIA Akron to bring you this green building tour. The Bridgestone Technical Center is a research laboratory for testing new advanced tire compounds, prototyping and quality control engineering. The offices are designed to reach LEED Gold certification under the New Construction 2.2 criteria.

The new Bridgestone ATC incorporates many "green" strategies and this interactive tour of the will review those sustainable features as well as code related features. Highlights to include: smoke exhaust system, sprinkler system, on site water filtration (bioswales, vegetative roof, rain gardens, cisterns), building envelope (triple pane glass, rain screens, air filtration membrane) and the unique HVAC heat sink system which results in a 30% energy savings over a conventional design.

This presentation will be facilitated by registered architect Matthew Sutter LEED AP of SoL Harris/Day Architects in Canton.
