LorkTech Presents: Celebrating Sustainability and Entrepreneurship , a Benefit for Kids Against Hunger

Come enjoy a one-of-a-kind union of two sustainable social enterprises, who have come together to tell a story with great potential for positive change. Case Western Reserve University, acting as fiduciary for our featured charity, will process tax-deductible donations. The tickets are $40, and all proceeds will go to Kids Against Hunger's Cleveland satellite to help fund future food packing events. The $40 ticket will provide 200 nutritious meals for the Cleveland community. We hope those who attend will find networking value, learn how to get involved and engaged, and have fun! A brief background on our host partners: LorkTech hopes to hold great promise for representing North East Ohio as a major player in transformative technology ? pioneering a new category in the Electronic Shelf Labels industry. The LorkTech Reprogrammable Shelf Tag System Design offers many advantages specifically sought after by industry experts and retailers alike. LorkTech consists of Case Engineering, Weatherhead, and CIA alumni as well as current students themselves, including Co-Founder Mark Lorkowski. Together, they are optimistic their platform system will be a game changer. The ultimate goal is to build a more sustainable, efficient, and regional economic development through innovation and enthusiasm from right here in Cleveland. (http://www.lorktech.com) Kids Against Hunger is the featured charity for our evening, headed by current CWRU Freshman Aditya Rengaswamy. Aditya spent years with a Michigan chapter of this nationally-present nonprofit and took the initiative to launch a Cleveland Chapter at Case Western Reserve University. Kids Against Hunger serves as a key supplier of nutritious and affordable meal packs that feed up to six people. On April 14th, there will be a scheduled community- wide packing day, engaging much of the CWRU undergrad community in essential service roles to feed the Greater Cleveland area. We hope it will be a tremendous collaborative success and result in the successful packaging of 28,000 easy-to-prepare meals with significant shelf life of three years. A strategic partnership with the Cleveland Food Bank assures that distribution to communities and families in need will be handled professionally and proficiently.
