Housing and health: A look at effective interventions for people with asthma
By engaging physicians, healthy homes inspectors and families in managing asthma care, CHHAP – a HUD-funded program – is successfully addressing environmental asthma triggers in the home and helping families adhere to their asthma action plans.
In this webinar, discover how Dr. Dorr Dearborn (Director, Mary Ann Swetland Professor of Environmental Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine) and Mr. Stuart Greenberg (Former Executive Director, Environmental Health Watch) partnered to provide in-home environmental interventions for children with asthma in the Cleveland community. This comprehensive asthma care approach has resulted in a 58.6 percent reduction in hospitalizations of children with asthma during the 12 months following a home assessment and remediation.
