Ride of Silence
Cleveland cyclists will join others across the globe in a silent slow-paced ride in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.Ride no faster than 12 mph and remain silent during the ride. There are no brochures, no sponsors and no registration fees. The ride aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police officers and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for those who have been killed or injured. In its third year Cleveland Ride of Silence will have two start points (Free Stamp at Willard Park on Lakeside Ave. and JCU), meeting at 5:30pm and departing at 6pm. Both rides will meet at University Hospital in University Circle at 7pm for a brief ceremony honoring those injured or killed while cycling.
Depart from Free Stamp downtown or John Carroll University
