Seed Saving Workshop
FOOD NOT LAWNS, CLEVELAND, with support from OSU EXTENSION, presents a seed saving workshop and potluck lunch. Topics include: the economics and politics of seed-saving; ways to collect, dry and store saved seed from very easy plants (beans, squash and other larger seeded plants); seeds that require a little fermenting; flower seeds; stratifying; saving seeds from produce you buy; and wild harvesting. Feel free to bring a specimen to de-seed. Save them now for something to grow later or swap in January.

From 1 to 3 p.m. at the same location, Judi Strauss of The Charmed Kitchen will present a Food Preservation Overview of canning, drying, fermenting, freezing and more. Fee is $15 for hand-outs and food samples.
