Community meeting on Acacia Reservation restoration
Cleveland Metroparks will hold a public meeting to discuss restoration design options for Acacia Reservation (previously Acacia Country Club and Golf Course). Last December, the 155-acre property became Cleveland Metroparks 17th reservation after a transfer of ownership from The Conservation Fund, a nonprofit group based in Arlington, VA.
Cleveland Metroparks invites individuals and organizations with interest and experience in ecological design to attend the community meeting. After a brief presentation by Cleveland Metroparks staff, participants will be asked for their input on various topics including plant community dynamics, biomonitoring, and restoration design.
"We're using this meeting to assist Cleveland Metroparks with restoration planning and design efforts for this valuable green space," said Brian Zimmerman, Chief Executive Officer of Cleveland Metroparks. "Restoration of Acacia Reservation will have invaluable environmental benefits including reducing stormwater runoff and improving water quality, as well as the public health benefits stemming from access to green space."
