Station Hope is a multi-arts event that celebrates the triumphs of the Underground Railroad, the history of St. John's Church and the contemporary struggles for freedom and justice.
Based on Cleveland Public Theatre's past successes with Pandemonium, Arts In August, and Party in the Gordon Square, Station Hope offers audiences a rich and fun experience created by artists throughout Northeast Ohio. CPT will stage this event on one of the most historically significant sites in Greater Cleveland - St. John's Church or Station Hope as it was known on the Underground Railroad. Audiences tour through St. John's sanctuary, parish hall, and intricate basements to view an array of short performances of dance, theatre, storytelling and music, including Bodwin Theatre's original work, "3,000 Miles Underground," by Peter Manos. Visual art displays and public arts activities permeate the event and choral performance set the atmosphere of the outdoor spaces in and around the church.
Station Hope is a free, one-night-only event.
