Cuyahoga Valley farm planning course
Countryside Conservancy is offering a class, Planning and Financing For Your Farm, designed to assist beginning farmers with creating a business plan and securing financing for their business. The first portion of the class, taught by Tracy Emrick of Countryside Conservancy, will cover all aspects of planning a farm business, including creating a mission statement, analyzing the competition, marketing, planning your operations, and more. The second portion, taught by Rob Ziemkiewicz of Farm Credit Mid-America, will discuss the importance of record keeping, balance sheets, projections, and what typical lenders look for in a loan candidate, as well as options for non-traditional financing. This class is ideal for beginning farmers, but will also be very beneficial to existing farmers looking to grow their business.
