Talk on the land ethic and the concept of nature

Steve Vogel of Denison University will be giving a talk through the CWRU Department of Philosophy on the critical evolution of Leopold's land ethic. Vogel's analytically clear work on the bases of environmental problems in failure of collective action has informed a novel and challenging position in the fields of environmental ethics and environmental social-political theory in which, among other things, Vogel has argued against the use of the category of nature as a useful category.
