Take to the Lake
Join Doan Brook Watershed Partnership for an afternoon of paddling, geo caching, yoga, and music around picturesque Lower Shaker Lake. Area residents may bring their own kayak or canoe for launching from the shore. Those without boats may either borrow a canoe on a first come first serve basis or sign up for a kayak and an introductory paddling class led by specialists from Cleveland Metroparks Youth Outdoors-for a $5.00 fee. Registration is required for all participants, whether bringing personal boats or signing up for a kayaking class (open to all over 50lbs & 6 years old). Launch site location and parking information will be provided at time of registration. In addition to boating, we will offer the following land-lover activities: 2pm) Community Yoga: Practice yoga under the trees, presented by Luna Presence for all ages. $5.00 3pm) Doan Brook Geocaching Hike: Join naturalists from the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes for geocaching adventure in the Doan Brook gorge and parklands.
