Doan Brook Hike at Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve with Dr. Roy Larick
Join Dr. Roy Larick for an educational hike through the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve on June 4. This natural gem abuts historic Gordon Park, sits atop the mouth of the Doan Brook, and is a testament to nature's resiliency, transforming from toxic dump to green refuge in the span of 20 years. Learn the story of Gordon Park's glory days, the creation of Dike 14, and the Dike's rebirth as the Lakefront Nature Preserve. Savor unique views of downtown and Lake Erie. Hear about visions to restore the mouth of Doan Brook and re-stitch the connection between Brook and Lake. The hike will last approximately two hours. Hikers will meet at the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve near the park administration building (8701 Lakeshore Boulevard, Cleveland, 44108). Advance registration is required. Contact Graham at 216-325-7781 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register. There is a $5 fee for the hike.
