Shale gas conference of National Academy of Engineering

The National Academy of Engineering is sponsoring a Topical Conference on “Shale Gas: Promises and Challenges,” which will be hosted by Case Western Reserve University and held in Severance Hall on the afternoon of June 18 and the morning of June 19. The conference will feature talks and panel discussions by experts from academia, industry, government, and not-for-profit environmental organizations. The aim is to learn from other states that preceded Ohio in shale drilling, while contributing to an international dialogue about its risks and benefits.

Dedication ceremonies for the new Watershed Stewardship Center in the West Creek Reservation of Cleveland Metroparks. Dedication at 10:30 a.m., with open house following until 4 p.m. Additional Community Discovery Day on June 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Watershed Stewardship Center is dedicated to promoting healthy urban watersheds through science, education, research and restoration.
