More ways to support the GreenCityBlueLake Institute

There are many other ways to support the visionary work of of the GreenCityBlueLake Institute and the sustainability efforts of The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, including:

  • Projects: As a “think-and-do” tank, the Institute conducts projects that promote the design of ecological cities that are good for people and nature. Institute staff members have expertise in the fields of green building, city and regional planning, transportation, watershed planning, energy alternatives, carbon footprint analysis and planning to mitigate climate change. The current priority is helping Northeast Ohio transition to a carbon-neutral future. Project sponsorships can be customized to meet a variety of needs.
  • Exhibits: The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is developing new exhibits to educate the public about sustainability and the work of the GreenCityBlueLake Institute. The Museum also will be hosting a major traveling exhibit on climate change in 2011.
  • Museum building: The Museum has exciting plans to renovate and expand its facilities in University Circle. The new building’s LEED Platinum design will include many green features, as well as a new Hall of Conservation and Sustainability.
  • GreenCityBlueLake Institute endowment: Endowment support will help build the Institute into one of the nation’s major centers for sustainability. Donations can support the Institute as a whole or establish endowed chairs for permanent staff.

To arrange a meeting to discuss such opportunities, please call Institute director David Beach (216-231-4600, x3366) or Museum development director Bill Lynerd (216-231-2105).

Thanks for your support!
