Curriculum

  • College of Architecture and Environmental Design
  • Assistant Professor Donald Coates is working with students and Myers Motors on an electric car in the College of Technology and with the Department of Chemistry on fuel cells.
  • Simon Mwongela, assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, is researching green chemistry in the form of ionic liquids and bio-diesel.

Green Building

  • Currently undergoing energy audits of several campus buildings

Purchasing

  • Green cleaning products are used across campus

Energy

  • Kent’s upgraded co-generation plant generates electricity and uses the waste heat for steam, reducing CO2 emissions by 13,071 tons per year.
