RTA board of trustees meeting -- The Finance Committee meets at 9 a.m. to discuss a proposed across-the-board fare increase, RTA’s first in 13 years. The move is prompted by skyrocketing fuel costs that have more than tripled in recent years. If the Committee recommends the proposal to the full Board, it will be voted on at a Board meeting that immediately follows the Committee meeting.

This action comes after several Board discussions at earlier meetings, and eight public hearings in late April and early May. If approved by the Board, increased fares could take effect as early as July 1.
